This page complements the Selto privacy policy. It makes the deletion process clearer, easier to read and better documented, in line with good practice in data protection and request traceability.
1. Who can ask?
A deletion request can be made in particular by:
- a user who has a Selto account;
- a client company that wants to delete the data linked to its use of the service;
- a person whose personal data has been processed through Selto;
- an authorised representative, when they can show they are entitled to act.
2. What to provide
To avoid mistaken or incomplete deletions, the request should contain as much as possible of the following:
Identification
Name of the requester, company concerned, contact e-mail or phone.
Scope
Account, WhatsApp number, workspace, contact, conversation or data concerned.
Verification
Anything that helps confirm that the request is legitimate and authorised.
The more precise the request, the faster it is processed and the lower the risk of an incomplete or incorrect deletion.
3. How the request is handled
Processing generally follows the steps below:
- 01Receipt
We receive your request
The request is recorded and qualified according to its purpose, its scope and the context of the account.
- 02Verification
We check it is legitimate
We may ask for additional information to confirm the identity or the authorisation of the requester.
- 03Execution
We carry out the deletion
We delete or anonymise the data concerned when the request is admissible and technically feasible.
Good practice for your request
- use the e-mail linked to the account or organisation concerned when possible;
- identify clearly the data concerned;
- say whether the request concerns a conversation, an account, a number or a set of data;
- add any useful reference to limit back-and-forth.
4. When data is kept in part
Some data may not be deleted immediately or entirely if keeping it remains necessary to:
- comply with a legal or regulatory obligation;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- ensure the security and integrity of the service;
- settle a dispute;
- enforce a contract;
- protect the rights of Techsoft Web Agency, of a client company or of third parties.
Where possible, we prefer a targeted deletion, anonymisation or restriction of access to keeping data more widely than necessary.
5. Data managed for a client company
When data is processed as part of a client company’s use of Selto, Techsoft Web Agency often acts as a processor. In that case:
- we may pass the request on to the client company concerned;
- we may process the request according to its instructions;
- some deletions may need its validation.
If you are a contact, prospect or customer of a company that uses Selto, it may help to name that company clearly in your request.
